The secretariat of the Islamic Republic of Iran 17th International Book of the Year Prize announced that 48 foreign and 16 domestic books have been short listed for the title. These books have been analyzed in two sections by the jury: Islamic studies and Iranian studies

This year more than 1800 first edition titles published in 2008 entered the competition  out of which 48 foreign and 16 domestic books were short listed for the title. According to the report, the books were analyzed in two sections: Islamic studies and Iran studies. Also, this year books vary in languages as English, Arabic, German,

French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Azeri Turkish and Chinese were among  the entries. The secretariat of the prize also announced the begining of evaluating  the short listed books for selecting the winner.


According to the secretariat's announcement the winners of the 17th International Book of the Year Prize will be announced along wit the 27th Islamic Republic of Iran Book of the Year Prize in February.
