Productions representing 19 countries have been selected to participate in Iran's 2009 International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Verite.

Organized by Iran's Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the festival will screen 35 international films along with 105 films by Iranian directors in 13 different categories.

The third edition of Iran's Cinema Verite will be held , Oct. 15 to 19, 2009 and will open with this year's Oscar nominee Rabbit a la Berlin by Bartek Konopka.

Cinema Verite is a documentary genre that originated between 1958 and 1962 in North America to capture reality and represent it 'truthfully'. The genre seeks to question the relationship between reality and cinema.
