| Tehran short film fest hosts Kordish films section |

The 27th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival is dedicating the section Rojna to films produced in the Kurdish language this year. The festival organizers have opened this section with the aim of strengthening local cinema and recognizing potentials and talents in different provinces of the country. A collection of 16 shorts coming from Sanandaj, Marivan, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Baneh and Ilam will go on screen in the Kurdish language. Productions from Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS) will go on screen at the Sacred Defense section of the gala, which is running from November 19 to 24. They include “Chance” by Ensieh Shah-Hosseini, “Two Sisters” by Bijan Mir-Baqeri, “Birthday of a Bullet” by Karim Faeqian, “Doll” by Mohammadreza Rahmani, “Step into Paradise” by Atefeh Khademorreza, “Walking on the Railroads” by Vahid Hosseini Nami, “Border of Life (2)” by Taha Karimi, “Blue Dream of Love” Jamshid Rau’fi, “Noah’s Ark” by Sudabeh Bababgap, “My Monster” by Alireza Mirasadollah and “Reconnaissance” by deceased filmmaker Ebrahim Asgharzadeh. Films from different countries including Spain, Germany, Japan, France, Cuba, Taiwan, Canada, India, China, Britain, Brazil and several others will be competing in the intentional section of the festival.
